About Asbita Orthodontics

Before opening his own practice, Dr. Asbita spent years as an associate inside large corporate dental groups. He watched the same problems repeat. The orthodontist was only in the building a couple of days a week. Appliances showed up late or not at all. Schedules fell apart. Patients sat in crowded waiting rooms full of staff who did not know who they were.

He built Asbita Orthodontics to fix all of that. Orthodontics is not a side service here. It is the whole practice. That focus shows up in small ways and big ones, from how quickly we answer your questions to how carefully we plan every case. You are not competing with cleanings, crowns, and a dozen other procedures for our attention. You have it.

An orthodontist completes years of additional training after dental school that a general dentist does not. Dr. Asbita finished his orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut, then went a step further by earning certification from the American Board of Orthodontics.

Board certification is voluntary. Most orthodontists never pursue it. Dr. Asbita did, because it holds him to a higher standard and requires him to keep proving it as the field advances. When a general dentist offers braces or aligners on the side, you are not getting this. When you come here, you are.

Dr. Asbita plans every case around the patient in the chair. He takes time to understand what you want out of treatment, then designs a plan based on current evidence and your own goals rather than a one-size template. He will tell you honestly what you need and what you do not.

That honesty extends to the harder conversations in orthodontics today. Some offices aggressively market expansion and airway treatment to very young children, well past what the research supports. Dr. Asbita stays conservative and evidence-based. If a treatment is right for you, he will recommend it. If it is being oversold, he will say so.

We use iTero digital scanning, so there are no messy impression trays. A few minutes with the scanner produces a precise 3D model of your teeth and a preview of where treatment can take them. We also have an in-office CBCT, which gives a full three-dimensional view below the surface for complex cases like impacted teeth. Many general dental offices in the area do not have one.

Technology only matters when it makes care better. Everything in our office is here for that reason and nothing else.
